Port Elizabeth police arrested three more suspects early on Friday morning for the rape and murder of 14-year-old Patronicia Jordaan.
This brings to eight, the number of suspects now behind bars for the Helenvale teen’s brutal murder.
Her body was found in bushes between Gelvandale and Algoa Park on 8 January. She had sustained several stab wounds.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said Gelvandale detectives with the assistance of the Anti-Gang Unit and Public Order Policing arrested the three suspects aged 38, 30 and 21, at houses in Deverill and Leith Streets as well as in Standford Road.
“They are detained on charges of rape and murder and will appear in the Port Elizabeth magistrates’ court on Monday. Further arrests are expected,” Naidu said.
The five suspects arrested last Saturday have already appeared in court and were remanded in custody until 24 March 2021.
