At least three people were killed in an accident on the N2 between Mthatha and Qumbu in the Eastern Cape on Friday afternoon.
The provincial Department of Transport says a sedan with four occupants collided with a fully loaded minibus taxi.
Spokesperson, Unathi Binqose says three people from the sedan were declared dead at the scene, while six others were critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
