Eastern Cape police at Lady Frere are appealing to the public to assist them with information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrator who killed three old women at Maqhashu on Saturday.
Warrant Officer Namhla Mdleleni says the three women, aged between 65 and 75, were on their way home at around 6pm when they were confronted by a man who started hitting them.
Two of them died on the scene and the third was taken to Glen Grey Hospital where she later passed away.
There have been no arrests and police are still trying to establish the motive behind the attack.
