Three people have been killed in an accident between a mini-bus taxi and an Eastern Cape Health Department vehicle.
Police spokesperson, lieutenant-colonel Priscilla Naidu, says the accident happened this morning on old Cape road near Rooihoogte in Uitenhage.
She says the deceased, all adult males, were in the taxi.
According to police information, the driver of a maroon Toyota Venture and his two front seated passengers were killed on impact.
The Venture was a taxi heading towards Kwanobuhle. The other vehicle was a Forensic Pathology Services vehicle from the Department of Health.
Five other people were injured.
Naidu says the cause of the accident is not yet known.
