Three suspects are due to appear in the Gqeberha magistrates court on Thursday for a double murder they allegedly committed three days before Christmas.
The suspects, aged 21, 22 and 32 face a charge of murder after they allegedly brutally stabbed two teenagers to death during the early hours of December 22nd.
The bodies of the two 18-year-old teenagers, identified as Elthan De Jager and Riaan Schutte, were found in the vicinity of Bloekom and Swarthout Streets in Algoa Park.
Police say they had been stabbed multiple times.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu said both victims were from Missionvale.
She said their alleged killers were arrested on Tuesday, adding that “since the murders, police had been working around the clock in search of the suspects”.
However, DA councillor Teslin Booysen expressed disappointment in SAPS, lamenting the fact that grieving families had only been informed nearly a month later.
“Families were looking frantically for their children and the Algoa Park police station was unable to provide any information about this. It is unacceptable that these children were murdered on the 22nd of December 2022 and families were only notified and January this year,” said Booysen.
