Four of the Eastern Cape's leading private schools have released their 2022 matric results.
In 2021, the Independent Examination Board (IEB) schools enjoyed a 98.39% pass rate and in 2022 their matric pass rate was 98.42%.
St Andrews College in Makhanda and Woodridge College in Gqeberha both achieved a 100% matric pass rate this year.
The Diocesan School for Girls in Makhanda has five matrics listed in the National Top 1% of candidates per subject in seven subjects.
St Andrew's dux scholar Benjamin Terry achieved an 84% aggregate, achieved six distinctions and is ranked in the top 1% nationally in History.
DSG's 2022 Head Girl, Erin Powers, achieved 8 distinctions while their dux scholar, Lise-Mari Coetzee, was in the top 1% nationally for Accounting, Afrikaans First Additional Language, Life Orientation and Life Sciences.
The top achiever at Woodridge was Tamryn Louw with seven distinctions and her mark for Visual Art placed her in the top 1% of those who wrote.
Kingswood College, also in Makhanda, announced that two of their pupils, Catherine Williamson and Taryn-Rae Brown, received a full house of distinctions.
Taryn-Rae Brown placed in the Top 1% for English Home Language and Life Orientation.
Kingswood's dux-scholar and 2022 head girl Catherine Williamson made the Top 1% of IEB students in the country for Dramatic Arts and Geography.
Isabella Domingo also placed in the Top 1% for Dramatic Arts.
Meanwhile, the Education quality assurance body, Umalusi, has confirmed that the National Senior Certificate matric results for public schools will be released on Thursday, with pupils able to receive their marks at their schools on Friday.
