Thousands benefit from early childhood development services

Social Development Minister, Bathabile Dlamini, says there are more than 836,000 children benefiting from Early Childhood Development services in the county.

Opening a three-day conference in East London on Tuesday, the Minister said by the end of December last year, there were more than 19,500 ECD centres country-wide compared to 18,800 in March last year.

She also said that more than 488 of the children in Early Childhood Development Centres, are benefiting from a department subsidy.
