The Department of Environmental Affairs has issued a positive Record of Decision for a third wind farm at Coega.
Universal Wind plans to construct an 80 Meggawatt wind energy facility in Zone 12 of the Industrial Development Zone.
The company plans to construct up to 20 turbines of between 2 and 4 Mega Wats and electricity generated will feed into and supplement the national grid.
Electrawinds and Innowind have already received positive records of decision for their wind projects.
