Thieves have trashed a community radio station in Grahamstown, forcing Radio Grahamstown off-air.
Police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, says when one of the presenters arrived to do the morning devotion, he found their High Street studios in a mess.
"He noticed that the door was standing wide open and when he got into the studio he found it in total disarray. The monitors had all been stolen and the cables but," said Govender.
There was also a radio taken and other equipment taken, said Governder.
"The radio station is off for a bit now," she said.
Station manager, Pamela Zondani, estimates the losses at around R25 000.
