Thieves burgle Peddie Post Office

Police in Peddie in the Eastern Cape are investigating a break-in at the local Post Office where thieves made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, said police were notified early Wednesday morning of the burglary.

“Safes had been accessed and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken. Details of the incident are under investigation by SAPS and specialist investigators,” she said.

Govender has appealed to “any person with information” to contact their nearest police station or the crime stop number on 0860010111.

She said all information will be treated confidentially and the caller has a choice to remain anonymous.
