Thieves have broken into the East London museum for the second time in a fortnight.
Eastern Cape Arts and Culture MEC, Xoliswa Tom, has called on communities to help put an end to the damage and theft at Heritage sites.
She says according to the Acting Head of the Museum, Patricia Mafu, the latest break-in occurred at around six on Thursday morning when thieves damaged the palisade fencing and display cabinet containing Chinese ceramic display.
MEC Tom says the same method of entry was used on both occasions.
