Charges of theft and money laundering have been withdrawn against a 49-year-old local woman who was accused of stealing more than R477 000 from the Mossel Bay Golf Club.
Marianne Steinhobel worked as an accountant at the Club and was charged with stealing the money between April 2015 and July 2016.
The Hawks investigated the case, and she appeared in the Mossel Bay Regional Court on 3 August 2021.
Steinhobel’s lawyer, Ian Ellis, made representations to the National Prosecuting Authority in September 2022, which were accepted by the state.
He said all charges against Steinhobel were subsequently withdrawn.
