Thieves have stolen IT equipment valued at R160 000 from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University's Faculty of Education.
NMMU says in a brief statement that the theft over the Easter weekend was discovered on Tuesday morning.
It says the break-in took place during bad weather on Monday evening, as nothing had been found untoward during earlier routine security investigations.
Thieves forced open a computer lab within the Faculty of Education on South Campus and made off with 15 flat screens, eight PCs and a printer.
