Justice Minister, Jeff Radebe, will be in Nelson Mandela Bay on Wednesday.
The Justice Ministry says he will be opening the newly built Gelvandale Magistrate's Court.
He says currently this court, as a branch of the PE Magistrate Court, hears criminal cases, but will be adding a family court to deal with issues like maintenance and domestic violence.
Ministry spokesperson Themba Gola, says the new court is a demonstration of the Department's desire to bring justice closer to the people.
"There was a building here, but it was an old building, it was renovated and extended" she said
