A nine year old boy from George is the new under 10 National Junior Chess Champion of South Africa.
Michael Sweetbert won the title at the South African Junior Chess Championships in Kimberley recently.
Michael, from Rooi-rivierrif in George gas been playing chess for the past two years.
His coach, Terry Quirk from Sedgefield says he is proud of Michael who won six games out of his seven games, drawing one, at the championships.
