Ten perish in horror EC bus crash

Ten people were killed when a long-distance passenger bus crashed on the N2 between Butterworth and East London.

Eastern Cape Transport Department spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, said the horror crash occurred in the 'Kei Cuttings' late on Monday afternoon.

He said in a brief statement that rescue personnel were on the scene to retrieve the bodies of the deceased and to assist the other passengers.

Binqose said the N2 was closed to traffic.
