The Woolworths Group has confirmed that a total of ten people from its Access Park Woolworths Food store off Buffelsfontein Road in Port Elizabeth have now tested positive for Covid-19.
Woolworths National spokesperson Kirsten Hewett told AlgoaFM News that all ten staffers are currently self-isolating at home and that food care packs were delivered to them at the weekend.
She stressed that the store is currently trading with a new store team as all the original Access Park store employees are currently in self-isolation.
The Access Park Woolworths store reported its first case of a staffer testing positive for the Coronavirus on Wednesday the 14th of April and two days later reported its second case.
The store was then closed for a forensic deep clean before being re-opened with a new team of personnel in place.
Hewett added that their Covid-19 Helpline is in constant contact with the Access Park team in Port Elizabeth to address their health and well being concerns related to Covid-19.
She said medically trained professionals, who have also received training from the National Institute of Communicable Diseases, are assisting in screening and contact tracing.
