Port Elizabeth police are investigating a case of murder after the body of a teenager was found lying in an open field in Jacksonville on Sunday.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says police were alerted by a community member in the early afternoon of a body of a coloured man lying in a field next to the graveyard in Jacksonville.
She says the victim is approximately 16 years old.
The deceased sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper body.
The identity of the victim is unknown at this stage.
Colonel Naidu says at the time of his death, he was wearing a pair of white Soviet takkies(ankle boot), blue track pants and a maroon jacket.
