A 32-year-old man is expected to appear in the Humansdorp Magistrates' Court this week after allegedly robbing a woman in her Jeffrey's Bay home on Sunday.
Spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart says the 61-year-old woman was busy in her kitchen in her home in St Francis Street at 7 am when she noticed the suspect jumping over her boundary wall.
She says he was wielding a knife and ran towards her open sliding door.
Captain Swart says the robber threatened the homeowner and demanded money.
He stole her purse, electronic equipment and a laptop before fleeing the scene on foot.
She says police officers who were busy on a routine patrol, noticed a man walking around with electronic equipment and decided to approach him.
Swart says the suspect immediately started running and police gave chase.
All the stolen goods were recovered and the suspect arrested.
A case of robbery is under investigation and more charges could be added.
