A 19-year-old man has been jailed for 17 years for the murder of a 31-year-old man two years ago in Arcadia in Gqeberha.
The National Prosecuting Authority says the teenager was jailed in the High Court on Friday for killing Enrico Kasterivier outside a spaza shop in May, 2019.
Spokesperson, Anelisa Ngcakani, said in a statement that “Kassterivier was a member of the G-Stars criminal gang while the teenage boy was a member of the Honde Koppe criminal gang” and that the two were “rival criminal gangs”.
She said the youth, who was 17 at the time, was found in possession a revolver and five live rounds of ammunition when he was arrested in June, 2019.
