A 19-year-old student was tied up and robbed in her house in Summerstrand in Port Elizabeth on Thursday morning.
Police Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the incident happened at about 2.30 am at her home in Strandfontein Road in Summerstrand.
The complainant was fast asleep but woke up when a suspect put his hand over her mouth, ordering her to keep quiet.
Two more suspects entered the room and tied up the complainant, before stealing her laptop, phone, money, clothes and other items.
Janse van Rensburg says the teenager managed to untie herself and contacted police.
Members of the K9 unit followed up on information and within a matter of hours, arrested eight suspects in a house in Walmer Location where all the stolen goods were recovered.
The men aged between 20 and 37 are expected to appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court on Monday.
Janse van Rensburg says they will all be charged for the possession of stolen goods, and that more charges could be added at a later stage.
