Police divers will on Thursday morning continue to search for two men, who went missing in the sea at Wells Estate in Port Elizabeth.
NSRI spokesperson, Craig Lambinon says two teenagers and a 20-year-old man went swimming when they got swept away by rip currents early on Wednesday night.
He says both teenagers, aged 17 and 18, later washed onto the shore.
The 17-year-old was not injured but CPR had to be conducted on the 18-year-old who was later declared deceased.
Lambinon says when the men got swept out to sea a 28-year-old man launched into the surf to try and help when he too got swept out to sea.
Both the older men remain missing.
The body of the deceased was handed over to the Government's Health Pathology Services.
