The bail application of two men accused of killing and burying a 42-year-old Gqeberha mother in a shallow grave will be heard early in November.
The 33-year-old Reinhardt Leach and his co-accused, 20-year-old Dylan Cullis made a brief appearance at the local magistrate's court on Wednesday.
They were arrested at the weekend after the body of Vicki Terblanche was found in a shallow grave in Greenbushes on the outskirts of the city in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Leach who was the deceased's boyfriend reported her missing last Thursday and was teary-eyed and visibly emotional during Wednesday's court proceedings.
Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says a day after the missing person report was filed, members were called to the victim's house at a complex in Mill Park.
This, after concern was raised that something was amiss as the doors and garage doors of the house were wide open with no one inside.
Colonel Naidu said a forensic team was roped in and while they were busy at the house, Leach arrived stating that he lived on the property.
Detectives recognised him as the same man who reported his girlfriend the previous day.
Further probing later led them to a house in Burt Drive in Newton Park, where Cullis was arrested.

Leach, a former primary school teacher, shared the missing notice on Facebook asking anyone who has seen Vicki to contact him or her ex-husband
Meanwhile, Colonel Naidu says the post mortem has since been completed but SAPS have not yet received the report.
The pair are remanded in custody until 8 November for their formal bail application.
Colonel Naidu says the accused are currently being charged with murder but more charges could be added.
