Teacher's alleged killed denied bail in Mossel Bay court

The Mossel Bay Magistrate's court has refused to grant bail in the case of 57 year-old man arrested for the murder of a resident of Die Eiland at Great Brak River.

The suspect appeared on Thursday in connection with the murder of Ron Wiggett, a former teacher at York High School, whose body was found in his home in September last year.

Police arrested the suspect shortly after the murder but released him due to lack of evidence.

He was re-arrested after DNA analysis of blood on his pants positively linked him to the crime scene.

The man will appear in court again soon and remains in custody.
