Nelson Mandela Bay police are investigating a case of attempted murder after a taxi driver was shot and wounded in Kwazakhele on Wednesday.
Captain Andre Beetge says 34-year-old Sindile Phamala was busy calling passengers when an unknown suspect fired several shots at him.
Phamala was injured in the upper body and taken to hospital for medical assistance.
Beetge says the suspect fled on foot.
Wednesday’s shooting follows a week after a 61-year-old taxi boss was gunned down in broad daylight in Gqeberha.
On Saturday, a member of the Border Alliance Taxi Association was shot multiple times outside his home in East London.
No arrests have yet been made.
