Police in Swartkops in Nelson Mandela Bay are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a taxi driver was killed in a head-on collision on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the driver allegedly collided with a bus on the R335 Addo Road.
She says the bus and taxi were travelling in opposite directions when the accident occurred just before 3 pm.
The driver succumbed to his injuries on the scene.
He was identified as Zolani Pita from Kwanobuhle.
Colonel Naidu says Pita, whose age is unknown at this stage, was transporting workers home to Kariega.
His 14 passengers were taken to the hospital to be treated.
The exact cause of the accident is not known and will form part of the investigation.
