Addo police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after one person was killed in an accident between a car and a minibus taxi in the town this morning.
Police Spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart says it is alleged that the driver of the Quantum minibus was transporting learners, between the ages of 9 and 12, to school on the R336 Sunlands Main Road, when the two vehicles collided.
She says none of the learners were injured, but the 45-year-old driver of the car died at the scene.
Swart says the 33-year-old driver of the Quantum was arrested and is due to appear in the Kirkwood Magistrates court on Thursday.
She says he is being detained on charges of culpable homicide and reckless and negligent driving.
