A Port Elizabeth woman conducting Takelot deliveries was left traumatised when she was hijacked at gunpoint while dropping off items at a residential address in Rubens Road, Walmer Heights, on Monday morning.
Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the complainant was busy with a delivery at around 9.30 AM and while on her way back to her car, she was confronted by two unknown men wielding firearms.
They demanded her car keys and drove off in her vehicle.
Captain Janse van Rensburg told Algoa FM News that within minutes of the hijacking, a resident in Godlonton Street in Walmer Heights noticed suspicious behaviour outside.
Three men were busy offloading goods from the hijacked VW Polo into another white VW Polo without registration numbers.
The resident made a noise, causing the suspects to jump into their vehicle and flee the scene with several parcels taken from the hijacked VW Polo.
The hijacked car was abandoned at the scene.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says the complainant was not physically injured in the incident and that a case of vehicle hijacking is being investigated.
