Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga will be leading a government delegation to the Eastern Cape on Tuesday following Monday's resignation of Eastern Cape education superintendent-general Modidima Mannya.
Mannya stepped down amid intense pressure from teacher's union Sadtu.
Minister Motshekga is expected to meet Eastern Cape premier Noxolo Kiviet to discuss the way forward following advocate Mannya's departure.
Motshekga will be accompanied by five deputy ministers, including deputy education minister Enver Surty, to discuss progress with regards to government intervention in the Bhisho Education Department.
