Seven men arrested for a foiled platinum heist in Deal Party, Port Elizabeth late last year, are back in court on Thursday.
Five suspected robbers and a by-stander were killed in a dramatic shoot-out between an armed gang and police.
The men had allegedly tried to rob a security vehicle carrying valuable platinum used in the catalytic converter industry.
During Thursday's court proceedings, legal counsel for one of the accused applied for the recusal of magistrate Abigail Beeton, arguing that she may be biased having heard two earlier bail applications.
