Port Elizabeth police arrested two suspects shortly after they robbed a supermarket in Sixth Avenue in Walmer on Friday morning.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans, says the men were part of a group of four who robbed the supermarket which is owned by foreign nationals.
Two of the men were armed with firearms and stole cash, airtime and other goods.
Labans says two of the men who fled in a taxi were arrested shortly afterwards when police pulled the vehicle over.
The stolen goods and one of the firearm were recovered.
