Four suspects are due to appear in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrates’ Court today in connection with the kidnapping of a 23-year-old man earlier this week.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Chris Spies says it is alleged that two men visited the residence of the victim in Edward Street, Qolweni, Plettenberg Bay on Tuesday when they forced him into the boot of a vehicle.
They then drove to an undisclosed location where the four occupants of the vehicle repeatedly assaulted him with blunt objects.
Sergeant Spies says the victim sustained multiple injuries and was later released by the assailants.
An Intensive investigation into the incident took the police to various houses in Qolweni where four suspects were arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The suspects, aged between 31 and 42, are still in custody and face charges of kidnapping and assault with intent to cause bodily harm.
Sergeant Spies says more charges could be added as the investigation unfolds.
