Police in Port Elizabeth are urging residents to be vigilant and circumspect about their immediate surroundings.
This comes after two suspects gained access to a gated complex and robbed a house in Lovemore Park on Tuesday.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says CCTV footage shows the men entered the property with their vehicle after waiting for a resident to leave through the remote-controlled gate, at about 1.30 pm.
She says they then robbed a house where a 16-year-old was home alone and fled with TV sets, IPads and other household items worth an estimated value of over R50 000.
Naidu says the teenager was unharmed in the incident, and the duo fled in the white Toyota Corolla which had no registration plates soon after.
