Latest rainfall figures after a full day of gentle rain


Nelson Mandela Bay is receiving a gentle soaking for a second straight day on Wednesday with 17.4 millimetres of rain measured up until 8 am.

Third avenue dip in Newton Park has received 30 millimetres, Blue Horizon Bay 20.8 millimetres, St Albans 26.2 and Uitenhage 10.8.

The PE branch of the SA Weather Service reports that the catchment area in the Langkloof has not received that much rain to date, with Patensie the highest at 11.6 millimetres followed by the Kouga Dam at 8.7 and Kareedouw at 8.4.

Elsewhere, George has received 47.3 mm, Mthatha 25.2 mm and Port Alfred 18.4 mm.

Meanwhile, the Garden Route National Park (GRNP) has received good rains in the Wilderness section of the Park. About 33mm of rain, was measured in Farleigh, 32mm in Goudveld, 32mm around the Touw River in Wilderness.

The Knysna section recorded 28mm in the forest and fynbos areas of Harkerville, 22mm in Diepwalle and another 5mm at the Thesen Island jetty.

Approximately 13,2 mm, was recorded in the Storms River Rest Camp and 3mm for Bloukrans in Tsitsikamma.
