Eastern Cape police announced the arrest of two suspects for the brutal attack on elderly Eastern Cape farmer, Francis Davidson, last Wednesday night.
Police spokesperson, Captain Ursula Roelofse, said the arrests were made on Saturday in Mdeni Village.
She said Detective Sergeant Lwando Tshetsha and his team worked tirelessly, and on 29 April 2023 at about 22:00 managed to arrest two suspects ages 23 and 34.
Police said that three broke into Davidson’s house on the farm, Whoa-Ha near the Port River Bridge last Wednesday, and brutally assaulted him, leaving him with burn wounds to the upper body.

Roelofse said the Detectives followed up on all possible leads and arrested the suspects in a house at a village at Mdeni about 10 km from the farm on the R56 to Mount Fletcher,” Roelofse said.
They also recovered a television set, generator, clothing, laptop, and other household goods.
The suspects will make their first court appearance in Maclear on Tuesday.
Roelofse said the Joe Gqabi District Commissioner Major-General Lindelwa Vellem commended the members and thanked them for their dedication in making the arrests and recovery.
