Port Elizabeth police have arrested two suspects following a house robbery in Bloemendal.
Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg says two men, one of whom was armed, threatened a 27-year old man in his home in Ackeer Street on Thursday afternoon.
She says they tied up the man and his nephew before fleeing on foot with jewellery, a leather jack and two cell phones.
Janse Van Rensburg says the 27-year old managed to untie himself and pursued the suspects when shots were fired in his direction.
He was not injured.
She says the two suspects, in their twenties, were arrested later.
They will appear in court soon on charges of house robbery and the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
