Gqeberha police have arrested a 30-year old robbery suspect in Kwazakhele and recovered two firearms and ammunition.
Spokesperson, Colonel Pricilla Naidu says members spotted a suspicious Datsun Go on Friday evening and pulled it over in Johnson Road.
She says the driver was a well-known criminal.
The complainant in a house robbery case was contacted and she positively identified the suspect as one of two men who robbed her on Thursday.
Colonel Naidu says the 25-year old complainant alleged that the men threatened her and her friends with firearms, before fleeing with two laptop computers and cellphones to the value of R13 500.
She says further investigations led the team to a flat in Kwadwesi where they found a 9mm pistol, ammunition, and a gas gun in a plastic bag outside the flat.
The firearm will be sent for ballistic tests and the vehicle was impounded for further investigation.
The suspect is being detained on a charge of house robbery.
More arrests are expected.
