Suspected perlemoen poacher arrested in PE

A suspected perlemoen poacher in his early 30's was arrested in Sidwell, Port Elizabeth last night during a joint operation by the Tactical Task Force, Police and Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

One-thousand 104 abalone were recovered and four rigid inflatable boats were seized.

Thirteen diving canisters and other diving equipment was also confiscated. 

The total value of the abalone and all the confiscated equipment has been put at more than R800 000.
