East London police say a lovers quarrel may have led to the shooting of a woman in a block of flats in Quigney on Monday morning.
Police spokesperson, captain Steven Marais, says they're on the trail of the alleged shooter who's identity is known to the police.
He says police were called to Chadbert Court in Quigney where the body of a woman, believed to be between 35 and 42 years old, was found on the stairway.
Marais says investigators also discovered several cartridges and bullets on the crime scene as well as a firearm believed to have been used in the shooting.
