A 29 year old suspect was arrested on Thursday night for the murder of a 44 year old disabled man at a mosque in South End, Port Elizabeth, earlier in the day.
Police Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the suspect, a Nigerian national and regular worshipper at the mosque, returned to the mosque in the evening and was identified as the suspect involved in the murder a few hours earlier.
Community members then followed the man when he left the mosque and arrested him in Walmer Boulevard.
He was taken to Humewood police station where he is being detained for the murder of 44 year-old Mohammed Laher.
The suspect will appear in court on Monday on a charge of murder.
