Port Elizabeth police are searching for a Nigerian national following the murder of a man in a South End mosque on Thursday.
Police have not yet released the identity of the 44-year-old victim, who was apparently praying alone in the mosque at the time.
Police spokesperson, captain Janse van Rensburg, says the victim had allegedly been assaulted and stabbed with a sharp object.
She says a witness saw the suspect, who is known to the police and a regular worshiper, enter the mosque shortly before noon today.
The motive for the murder is not yet known.
