Mossel Bay police have arrested a suspect who attacked and rape a woman who was jogging at Springer Bay near Dana Bay over the weekend.
Police said the 45-year-old woman had been jogging early on Saturday morning when she was approached by the knife-wielding suspect.
A spokesperson said the woman, from Newcastle in Kwazulu Natal, was allegedly dragged into nearby bushes where she was raped.
The man apparently took the woman's jewellery and threw it into the sea before fleeing.
The suspect was arrested on Sunday by members of Mossel Bay's Family, Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit.
He will appear in court on Tuesday on a charge of rape.
