A robbery suspect has been shot dead and another wounded during a botched business robbery in North End, East London.
Provincial police report that three men entered the clothing store in St Johns Road shortly before 11 am on Friday.
Two suspects were wielding firearms while their accomplice filled a bag full of clothing and also helped himself to an undisclosed amount of money.
The shop owner pressed the panic button while the suspects were still inside the shop.
Police say the security company arrived and one of their officers shot a robbery suspect dead inside the store.
Another robber was shot and wounded as he fired at the security officers while running out of the shop.
The 32-year-old suspect sustained gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body and is currently under police guard in hospital.
Two firearms were recovered at the crime scene.
