A 50-year-old man has been arrested in Cape Town for the murder of an East London woman, Busisiwe Ngwadla, whose body was found in her flat in February.
Eastern Cape police spokesperson, Brigadier Thembinkosi Kinana, said that the man was arrested in Kayalitsha in the early hours of Sunday morning.
He said the suspect had disappeared immediately after Ngwadla's body was found with multiple stab wounds in her flat in Amalinda.
Kinana said the suspect is due to appear in court in East London soon.
Meanwhile, Eastern Cape Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Thembeka Dyantyi has hailed the sterling work of the police.
“All of us are excited about this breakthrough, as it will surely bring the affected families closer to a closure because they will witness justice being served in the case of their loved one," Dyanti said.
