UPDATE: Two suspects in their 30’s have been arrested and are currently receiving medical attention in hospital for the injuries sustained.
East London police are investigating cases of murder, attempted murder and opened an inquest docket following a shooting incident near the Indoor Sports Centre in Mdantsane on Saturday evening.
Spokesperson, Captain Nkosikho Mzuku says police were on patrol in the area when they heard gunshots.
On arrival, they found the body of a man with gunshot wounds, and another man in his 30's who was also shot.
Mzuku says three men started shooting at the police and they retaliated.
One of the attackers was fatally wounded and the other was wounded in the leg.
One suspect is still at large.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are not clear and the investigation continues.
