Bail has been denied for the 24-year-old man accused of killing PE flying squad member, Constable Dwane Kemp.
The bail hearing was concluded at the Port Elizabeth Magistrates court earlier on Tuesday.
Sibusisio Mcunu, faces five charges of murder and one of attempted murder for his part played in a robbery gone wrong at the Le Bon bakery in Central, late in January.
Kemp died in hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds when he and his partner came under fire while responding to the robbery call.
His partner shot and killed four suspects, while the young accused managed to flee but was arrested days later at his parents' house in Algoa Park.
Mcunu remains in custody until his next court appearance on the 23rd of April.
His lawyer, Zolile Ngqeza told Algoa FM News that he is waiting for instructions from his client on the way forward.
