Two robbery suspects came a cropper on Sunday night after they snatched the till from a fast food outlet in Sydenham, Port Elizabeth.
Police spokesperson, captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, says the one of the men sustained injuries after their vehicle overturned in Grahamstown Road following a chase by police and private security.
She says the suspect is under police guard in hospital while his accomplice is behind bars.
Janse Van Rensburg says the cash tray was recovered.
