A 21-year-old Port Elizabeth man made a brief court appearance on Wednesday in connection with the murder of Malabar businessman, Naeem Desai. Deswyn Kleinbooi was arrested on Saturday on an attempted murder charge related to a gang-related incident last November. While in custody police also linked him to the attack on Desai last Thursday.The 47-year-old businessman was shot dead outside a spaza shop in Helenvale while delivering bread. Co-workers told police that they had seen four people fleeing the scene after Desai was robbed of his cellphone and firearm.Kleinbooi will be back in court again on the 28th of June.He remains in custody.
