Suspect give PE cops the slip

A suspected Port Elizabeth car-jacker managed to evade a police dragnet thrown around a property in Central.

Police spokesperson, captain Stanley Jarvis, says police fired several warning shots as the suspect fled in the suspected stolen car earlier today.

No one was injured.

He says the vehicle was later found abandoned and the hunt for the suspect is continuing.
