Police in East London are investigating a case of attempted house robbery and in an inquest, following a farm attack in Cambridge on Sunday.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana says it is alleged that a suspect entered the 57-year-old farmer's house at Horseshoe valley where he threatened him and his family with a sharp object.
He says the victim was stabbed and a scuffle ensued with the suspect.
Brigadier Kinana says the suspect succumbed to his injuries and the owner was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The identity of the suspect is unknown at this stage.
